Miley Cyrus caused quite a stir when she lit a joint onstage at the MTV European Music Awards (EMAs) on Nov. 10. But she wasn't the only performer to push the boundaries in Amsterdam. Chart topper Bruno Mars brought his own brand of wild to the stage when he had a trained pole dancer perform while he sang his new hit "Gorilla."
The stripper-like dancer's risqué and acrobatic performance mirrored Mars' raunchy music video in which actress Freida Pinto played a pole dancer. At the EMAs, Mars belted out his tune as the dancer spun up and down and around the pole, spreading her legs open to Mars as he played the electric guitar. The dancer, named simply Nicole, wore stilettos, and a black bra and underwear.
With a combination of laser lighting and clever editing, MTV took the focus off of the dancer and made Mars the center of the shots, but photos from the performance show off more of the salacious dancer.
The hit maker took home the award for Best Song for the single "Locked Out of Heaven," but lost out to Justin Bieber for Best Male Artist.
Robin Thicke, Katy Perry, and Iggy Azalea were among the other performers at the televised awards show.
It was recently announced that the "Gorilla" singer will be performing at the 2014 Super Bowl Half Time show. No word yet on whether he'll include any pole dancers in his routine.
